Recommended Galleries in Berlin

I just got back from a week in wonderful Berlin, and figured I should share with you the names of some brilliant galleries I visited there.

First off I will have to mention Kunsthaus Tacheles. This “Art House” is situated in a derelict former ware house in former East Berlin.
The building has been occupied by artists, punks, homeless and so on for many years and is full of ateliers, galleries and art of all kinds, both in the many levels of the building itself but also in the quite large back yard. Definitely a must to visit, and also a good place to buy some cheap art prints or paintings to bring with you back home.

‘Clean City’: São Paulo Scrubbed of Outdoor Ads

Outdoor advertising is so ubiquitous in almost every urban setting around the world, it’s difficult to walk down a street, take an escalator or sit on a bench without getting slapped in the face with one product or another. But the city of São Paulo, Brazil is like an advertising ghost town: all of its billboards stand oddly blank and empty.
