Allandale House is designed by William O’Brian Jr. and is situated in Mountain West, USA.

He describes it as such:

Allandale House is an A-frame(s) house for an idiosyncratic connoisseur and her family. Along with its occupants, the Allandale House also provides space for an eccentric collection of artifacts that resist straightforward classification. Wines, rare books, stuffed birds and an elk mount are among the relics on display in this small vacation house.

The house links three horizontal extrusions of “leaning,” or asymmetrical A-frames. The skinny A-frame on the western side contains the library, wine cellar and garage. The wide A-frame in the center of the house is dedicated to two floors of bedrooms and bathrooms. The medium A-frame on the eastern side consists of living, kitchen and dining areas. The house aims to undermine the seeming limitations of a triangular section by augmenting and revealing the extreme proportion in the vertical direction, and utilizing the acutely angled corners meeting the floor as moments for thickened walls, telescopic apertures and built-in storage.

The relationship between the need for exposed storage and the interior liner of the house is a reciprocal one. Ostensibly problematic head-height limitations posed by the angled ceiling/wall planes are resolved by allowing the interior surface of the ceiling/wall to deviate from the roof surface as it nears.

Clap is a tiny camera that you can connect to your computer via USB. It is easy to operate and carry around with you.

It takes pictures and movies with a 2MP resolution and saves them on a Micro-SD card.

This is still only a prototype, and therefore need some more work, but I find the idea to be quite brilliant.

Created by Jonas Pfeil, the ball contains 36 2 megapixel cameras that are triggered at the balls highest point when thrown into the air by an accelerometer.
This results in a 360 degree panoramic image that you can navigate around via a panoramic viewer software that comes with the ball.

Made of 20 common wood hangers and black ropes, this wardrobe aims to show how everyday goods used in their ordinary function can be transformed into a new concept. Exploring and expanding an existing object to create a new way to manage small spaces results in a functional and simple creation.

A wild, contemporary home is amongst the freshest faces in the Hollywood hills, the Nakahouse LA by XTEN Architecture.  This angular, black-and-white design features terraced patios and private balconies on all of its levels, providing sweeping views of the hills above and the valley below.

The interior is minimally-designed and bathed in white, while the black skin of the exterior creates a visual barrier from a distance.  Much of the home opens to the exterior sections with sliding walls, a trend often respected here on TheCoolist.  Living in the Hollywood hills is already a claim the rich and/or famous can boast, and this home makes a proud entrance to an already storied neighborhood.

First off I will have to mention Kunsthaus Tacheles. This “Art House” is situated in a derelict former ware house in former East Berlin.
The building has been occupied by artists, punks, homeless and so on for many years and is full of ateliers, galleries and art of all kinds, both in the many levels of the building itself but also in the quite large back yard. Definitely a must to visit, and also a good place to buy some cheap art prints or paintings to bring with you back home.

The second gallery is Strychnin Gallery, a quite small gallery but with awesome artworks of the best kind.
The exhibition that was held when I visited was the C.O.P. Guide to Etiquette, a show featuring the works of many a brilliant artist.

The last one I want to mention is Zozoville Gallery. The small gallery is exhibiting, and selling, the absurd and funny artwork of Mateo Dineen and Johan Potma.

What a refreshing take on a deck chair. Bernhard Burkard has made this chair that leans up against walls or railings, and that he promises will not slip because of it’s coated stand.
